After the celebration of the Women’s Cricket World Cup Champions and Kaun Banega Crorepati’s triumphant tribute to them, the upcoming episode takes an emotional turn as captain Harmanpreet Kaur recalls her childhood. During the conversation, Big B recalls how his father once stitched a special T-shirt for him with ‘Good Batting’ written on it.Harmanpreet revealed, “The day I was born, my father was in his office, and the family sent him a message that my mother had been taken to the hospital. When I wore those clothes for the first time, no one paid attention. But after playing for India, a few years later, when we were changing houses, my mother found her and said, ‘Let me show you the clothes you wore on the first day.’ I saw a shirt that said ‘Good Batting’
Out of curiosity, Amitabh also asked Harmanpreet what inspired her to take up cricket. “One day, my school principal saw me playing. He told me that there were many sports in the school but there was no cricket team. He said, ‘If you join, I will make a team, because I have girls playing other sports,’ she said with pride. So I joined the school, they made a team for me and that’s how I got a chance to play in the girls’ cricket team.”For Harmanpreet, the rediscovery of those tiny hand-made clothes became a beautiful reminder of how deeply her father believed in her ability – long before she imagined herself becoming captain of the India women’s cricket team.In the episode, Shafali Verma also told how her passion for cricket started. Talking about her formative years, Shafali shared, “My family was not financially strong, and my father first took my brother for cricket coaching. I used to accompany him and tease him from behind, and tell him that practice seemed easy. One day, my father asked me to try it myself, and the first two balls I played, I hit well and he was impressed. There was no women’s cricket academy near our house, so I started playing with boys. When my brother fell ill before a tournament, I wore his T-shirt with the name ‘Sahil’ on it and played in his place… and I became the player of the tournament. That was the turning point in my life.”
